Western Brown extended their winning streak to eight on Friday, bumping their season record up to 12-1 in the process. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Northwestern Huskies. Considering the Broncos have won eight matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Northwestern, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Northwestern's part, Alysa Troyan was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double. Emma Fricke also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Looking ahead, Western Brown will square off against Point Pleasant at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Northwestern, they will be playing at home against Dalton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
