Recap: Shakamak Lakers vs. Evansville Christian Eagles

After a string of ten wins, the Shakamak Lakers's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 37-30 to Evansville Christian. Shakamak was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Evansville Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Several Lakers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aubrie Lambermont, who scored 11 points. The match was Lambermont's third in a row with at least ten points. Ema Janouskova was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Evansville Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bella Hall led the charge by scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds. The game was Hall's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Higgs, who scored eight points.

Shakamak's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-2. As for Evansville Christian, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shakamak will take on Sullivan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Evansville Christian, they will be playing at home against Northeast Dubois at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Northeast Dubois focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday.
