Softball Game Preview: C. Milton Wright Mustangs vs. Elkton Golden Elks

For the second straight game, C. Milton Wright will face off against Elkton. C. Milton Wright will welcome Elkton at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

C. Milton Wright lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Elkton, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's matchup. C. Milton Wright was the clear victor by a 19-1 margin over Elkton on Monday. That 18 run margin sets a new team best for the Mustangs this season.

Izzie Youngworth was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kendra Miller, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Julianna McJilton, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5.

Elkton is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4. As for C. Milton Wright, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
