Softball Recap: University Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask University). Everything went their way against Varsity Opponent on Thursday as they made off with a 23-2 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Hawks considering their two-run performance the match before.

The team relied heavily on Whitney Cox, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Maddie Campbell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with five RBI and two runs.

University always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .697. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

University's victory was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2-1.

University wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against James Madison on the 18th. As for Varsity Opponent, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-0 loss against Legacy School of Sport Sciences on the 17th.
