Softball Recap: Minooka Comes Up Short

Yorkville hit Minooka with a four-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians fell just short of the Foxes by a score of 7-6. The Indians were not able to make up for their defeat to the Foxes from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Ava Carlson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addisonn Crumly, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Minooka and nudges their season record down to 7-5. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Yorkville, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Minooka will face off against rival Plainfield North at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Yorkville is set to square off against their familiar foe Oswego at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
