            Softball Recap: Douglas Tigers vs. Reed Raiders        
        
		
        
        
            Douglas won against Reed  last Tuesday with 12  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Monday. The Douglas Tigers beat the Reed Raiders by the very same score they won with in their prior game:  12-9. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Tigers.
 Camryn McLelland was a major factor no matter where she played. She  struck out ten batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned  (and seven unearned) runs off   ten  hits. McLelland was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news, Douglas let  Ava Gildea and  Cameron Coats run wild. Gildea  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances, while  Coats  went 2-for-4 with one  home run and two  RBI.  Peyton Simpson was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI.

Douglas pushed their record up to 2-0 with the  win, which was their tenth straight  on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Reed, they now  have a losing record of 1-2.
