Regents took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against West Memphis Christian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lions had just enough and edged out the Black Knights 3-2 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since October 3, 2024.

Regents took West Memphis Christian into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-20, 25-20, 22-25, 15-9.

Selah Meurrier paced Regents' offense, picking up 24 kills. Meurrier got some help from Maddie Niemeyer and her 40 assists. Niemeyer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Regents' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6. As for West Memphis Christian, the loss snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 20-3 record.

Looking ahead, Regents will take on Ingomar at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Memphis Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against First Assembly Christian on the 30th.
