Softball Recap: Loveland Has No Trouble Against Fairview

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fort Collins, Loveland was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They blew past the Fairview Knights 12-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Red Wolves also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Ava Gintoli made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in August. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Izabelle Tilton, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in August. Lexi Boyle was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Loveland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .578. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Loveland's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12. As for Fairview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Loveland will take on Greeley West at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fairview, they will square off against Mead at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mavericks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.82 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
