Softball Recap: Bay Port Has No Trouble Against Notre Dame Academy

Bay Port lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Notre Dame Academy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Tritons on Friday. Considering the Pirates have won five matchups by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Ava Plumley, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Hailey Montie was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Bay Port always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Bay Port is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Notre Dame Academy, they dropped their record down to 8-11 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Bay Port will be playing in front of their home fans against Sheboygan South at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Notre Dame Academy, they will challenge Denmark at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
