Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask McDonogh). Everything went their way against The Carmel School Wildcats on Saturday as the McDonogh Eagles made off with a 75-55 win. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 30th in Maryland, while the Wildcats are ranked 121st in Virginia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

McDonogh's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Robert Moore led the charge by going 6 for 14 on his way to 15 points and four steals. Carlos Ferguson was another key player, going 7 of 11 on his way to 16 points.

Despite the loss, The Carmel School still got an impressive performance from Nicolo Passalacqua, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds. Passalacqua's morning made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Moss, who posted nine points.

McDonogh has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points per game. As for The Carmel School, they dropped their record down to 5-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

McDonogh wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-59 loss against Our Lady of Good Counsel on the 29th. As for The Carmel School, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 86-59 defeat against John Carroll on the 29th.
