Baseball Recap: Paul Laurence Dunbar Takes a Loss

After flying high against Anderson County on Monday, Paul Laurence Dunbar came back down to earth. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Woodford County Yellowjackets by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Yellowjackets earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Paul Laurence Dunbar saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Baker, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Paul Laurence Dunbar dropped their record down to 10-26 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Woodford County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-12 record this season.

Paul Laurence Dunbar will venture away from home to face off against Frankfort at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Woodford County, they will welcome Scott County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Yellowjackets 3.8, the Cardinals 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
