Volleyball Recap: Shaw Raiders vs. Columbus Blue Devils

The home team had come away the winner the last seven times Shaw and Columbus had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Raiders took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils on Tuesday. The Raiders were not able to make up for their loss to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-11.

Columbus found their leader in sophomore Emma Cicora, who had six aces and two blocks. Jaslyn Watts was another key player, getting seven digs and four aces.

Shaw's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-10. As for Columbus, they pushed their record up to 17-18 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Shaw and Columbus will both be playing Spencer the next time they take the court. The Blue Devils will head out to face the Greenwave at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Raiders will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
