Baseball Recap: Manti Has No Trouble Against Delta

Manti won the last time they faced Delta and things went their way on Friday too. The Templars put the hurt on the Rabbits with a sharp 12-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Templars.

Tazj Hill made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and six RBI. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high.

Hill wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chase Keisel, who went 1-for-2 with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Keisel has posted since back in March. Another was Boston Hatch, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Manti always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Delta only posted an OBP of .238.

Manti now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Delta, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manti will host Juab at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wasps' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Templars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Delta, they will welcome North Sanpete at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rabbits are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
