Baseball Game Preview: Army-Navy Warriors vs. Rock Academy Warriors

Army-Navy will be taking part in a tournament against Rock Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Army-Navy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with five straight defeats, while Rock Academy will come in with four straight wins.

Army-Navy fell victim to Chadwick and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Dolphins by a score of 1-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.

Jacob Hester made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one double.

Meanwhile, Rock Academy made easy work of Vincent Memorial on Wednesday and carried off a 16-5 victory. Considering the Warriors have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Connor Prunk made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Prunk was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while going 1-for-3. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Max Gimbel was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for Rock Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Alec Endicott was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Army-Navy's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Rock Academy, their record now sits at 9-2.

Army-Navy came up short against Rock Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 13-8. Can Army-Navy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
