Basketball Recap: Lake Brantley Patriots vs. Lake Highland Prep Highlanders
Lake Brantley lost against Lake Highland Prep back in December of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lake Brantley Patriots took a hard 63-48 fall against the Lake Highland Prep Highlanders. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Highlanders are ranked 28th).

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Julian Vargas, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 12 points. Vargas is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Elijah Fermaint was another key player, putting up 12 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake Highland Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than RJ Ingram, who went 6 for 10 en route to 15 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Nick Hagopian, who posted 15 points and five boards.
Lake Brantley has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season. As for Lake Highland Prep, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 19-4.
Lake Brantley will square off against Ocoee on Wednesday. Lake Brantley is facing Ocoee at the right time seeing as Ocoee is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
