Baseball Recap: Menlo School Has No Trouble Against Westmont

Menlo School barely beat Westmont the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Menlo School blew past Westmont 9-1 on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jackson Flanagan made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That stolen base was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Menlo School got a massive performance out of Chuck Wynn, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Wynn has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Renner Barnett, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Menlo School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westmont only posted a batting average of .167.

Menlo School's record now sits at 3-5. As for Westmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5-1.

Menlo School has already played their next match, a 9-0 loss against Palma on the 22nd. As for Westmont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-7 defeat against Sequoia on the 21st.
