Basketball Recap: Hilltop Takes a Loss

Hilltop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Crawford Colts and fell 62-25. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1133rd, while the Colts are ranked 391st).

Adrian Alvarez was Hilltop's leading scorer, having posted six points. Bryson Grant held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Crawford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Yasir Abdurahman, who went 8 of 11 en route to 17 points. Another player making a difference was Keontae Lewis, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 15 points and three steals.

Hilltop's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Crawford, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Hilltop didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-40 defeat against The Cambridge School on the 19th. As for Crawford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 76-52 win against Santana on the 19th.
