Softball Game Preview: Winston County Yellowjackets vs. Addison Bulldogs

The Winston County Yellowjackets will head out to square off against the Addison Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Addison took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Winston County, who comes in off a win.

Winston County barely beat Vina the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went Winston County's way against Vina on Thursday as Winston County made off with a 14-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won five in a row.

Ella Kennedy and A.J. SUTHERLAND did most of the damage at the plate: Kennedy scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while SUTHERLAND scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance also gave SUTHERLAND a new career-high in hits (four). REILLY WILLIAMSON was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Winston County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vina only posted an OBP of .400.

Meanwhile, Addison came up short against Lynn on Friday and fell 13-8. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Bears: they've now lost five in a row.

Addison's loss dropped their record down to 4-6-1. As for Winston County, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Everything went Winston County's way against Addison in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Winston County made off with a 17-0 victory. Does Winston County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Addison turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
