Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fayette County). They breezed past the Haleyville Lions to the tune of 61-21 on Friday. With the Tigers ahead 34-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Jake Rickman was his usual excellent self, throwing for 325 yards and six touchdowns while completing 86.7% of his passes. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Fayette County also got a significant boost from Mason Whitfield, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 90 yards.

Fayette County didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Haleyville to a completion percentage of just 47.4%. Given Rickman's standout performance, it's clear the Lions' secondary just wasn't on the same level.

The win was the fourth in a row for Fayette County, bringing their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points over those games. As for Haleyville, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fayette County will head out to face off against Winfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Haleyville, they will venture away from home to take on Lawrence County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will be up against the Red Devils' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.8 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
