Two dominant signal callers in Malik Leonard and Mason Mallory are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Chaminade-Madonna Lions will face off against the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Chaminade-Madonna comes in on seven and St. Thomas Aquinas on eight.
Chaminade-Madonna is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Cardinal Gibbons: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Lions blew the Chiefs out of the water with a 47-0 final score. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won five matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Chaminade-Madonna's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tromon Isaac Jr., who picked up 113 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 113 receiving yards gave Isaac Jr. a new career-high. Jasen Lopez also helped out as he racked up 130 receiving yards.
Chaminade-Madonna's run defense was locked in: Cardinal Gibbons could only muster 0.6 yards per carry. The team can thank Trevoris Finley for the heroic effort on defense: he. Chaminade-Madonna didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged ten.
Chaminade-Madonna didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Temorris Campbell, Daveon Black, Derrick Jones, and Maurice Wright picked up one apiece. Finley was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks and making seven total tackles (2.5 for loss).
Meanwhile, St. Thomas Aquinas faced American Heritage in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Raiders walked away with a 19-12 win over the Patriots. Those 19 points were actually the fewest the Raiders have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 13 in total. All those points came courtesy of Johnny DiSalvatore: he added 12 points with four field goals and another on an extra-point kick.
St. Thomas Aquinas' victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Chaminade-Madonna, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Chaminade-Madonna has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 254.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like St. Thomas Aquinas struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 195.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
