Football Recap: Nimitz Has No Trouble Against Spring

After only seven points in their last game, Nimitz made sure to put some points up on the board against Spring on Friday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 34-14 margin over the Lions. Considering the Cougars have won five matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Spring's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Landon Hathcock, who rushed for 20 yards and two TDs, and Vincent Lee, who rushed for 132 yards.

Nimitz pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.7 points over those games. As for Spring, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Nimitz will take on Dekaney at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Spring, they will square off against Aldine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.44 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
