Softball Recap: Lancaster Drops Highest Score of Season Against Rome Free Academy

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lancaster had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 20-2 margin over the Rome Free Academy Black Knights. The Legends' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Lancaster got a massive performance out of Emma Andolina, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and three RBI. That's the most RBI Andolina has posted since back in April. Ava Konieczny also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Lancaster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rome Free Academy only posted an OBP of .391.

Lancaster has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Rome Free Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.

Coming up, Lancaster will face off against Corning-Painted Post at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Legends surely won't give up without a fight. Rome Free Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
