Basketball Game Preview: Eastern Randolph Wildcats vs. Wheatmore Warriors

Eastern Randolph is 2-8 against Wheatmore since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Eastern Randolph Wildcats just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Wheatmore Warriors at 6:00 p.m.

Eastern Randolph lost 63-39 to Providence Grove on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 429th, while the Patriots are ranked 200th).

Meanwhile, Wheatmore was able to grind out a solid victory over Uwharrie Charter Academy on Wednesday, taking the game 52-42. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

This is the second loss in a row for Eastern Randolph and nudges their season record down to 4-12. As for Wheatmore, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.

Eastern Randolph suffered a grim 53-32 defeat to Wheatmore in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Eastern Randolph avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
