Softball Recap: Minersville Comes Up Short

Minersville lost against Pine Grove back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Battlin' Miners lost 12-4 to the Cardinals.

Eila O'Brien was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in hits (three).

On the hitting side, Grace Sterner was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Minersville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Minersville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 18-2 loss against Tri-Valley on the 25th. As for Pine Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 19-0 win against Our Lady of Lourdes Regional on the 25th.
