Baseball Game Preview: Octorara Area Braves vs. Pequea Valley Braves

Octorara Area are taking a road trip to challenge Pequea Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Octorara Area hasn't scored more than a single run for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Octorara Area fell victim to Garden Spot and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 14-0 to the Spartans.

Meanwhile, Pequea Valley also failed to score in their most recent game. They fell just short of Annville-Cleona by a score of 1-0 on Thursday.

Pequea Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Vollmer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases. Vollmer is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Elijah Smucker also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Pequea Valley's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-7. As for Octorara Area, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Octorara Area beat Pequea Valley 5-1 in their previous matchup back in March of 2022. Will Octorara Area repeat their success, or does Pequea Valley has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
