Lafayette had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Dixie County Bears, posting a 41-0 win. The Hornets have beaten the Bears the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bears has come to flipping the script.

Tywan K Williamson was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 164 yards and four touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 84 yards and one TD. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards. Lafayette's leading receiver Parker Hill was K Williamson's top target yet again, picking up 108 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Lafayette's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Kade Brannon, Jaxson Prine, and Bryson McCray, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Lafayette didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 37-29 victory against Suwannee on the 29th. As for Dixie County, they have also already played their next game, a 48-0 defeat against Trenton on the 29th.
