Soccer Game Preview: Jefferson vs. Sheridan

The Jefferson Saints will venture away from home to square off against the Sheridan Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Friday, Jefferson didn't have quite enough to beat Arrupe Jesuit and fell 2-1. Jefferson have struggled against Arrupe Jesuit recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Jefferson's goal came courtesy of Meadow Mondragon, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Sheridan was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Lake County, falling 6-0. One thing that didn't help Sheridan's chances was the red card they were dealt courtesy of Melany Umanzor.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jefferson fell to 3-1. As for Sheridan, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything went Jefferson's way against Sheridan in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Jefferson made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jefferson since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
