Notre Dame made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lookout Valley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish were the clear victor by  a  17-5 margin over the Lookout Valley Yellowjackets on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Fighting Irish considering their one-run performance the  matchup before.
 Kaylee Pendergrass made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Pendergrass was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with one  stolen base.
 In other batting news, Notre Dame let  Scarlett Hughes and  Dalana Brown run wild. Hughes  went 3-for-4 with four  runs, four  RBI,  and one  triple, while  Brown  scored four  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances.  Anastasia Zendejas was another key player,  scoring three  runs while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances.
The  win  got Notre Dame back to even at 1-1. As for Lookout Valley,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 0-2.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Red Bank  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Lookout Valley, they will host Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences  at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday.
