Diamond has gone 8-2 against Sarcoxie recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bears at 5:00 p.m. The last four games Diamond has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Diamond is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Missouri's top teams: Skyline, who was ranked first at the time (Diamond was ranked fourth). The Wildcats fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday.

Lauren Turner was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and one double.

Meanwhile, Sarcoxie came up short against Stockton on Tuesday, falling 18-2.

Sarcoxie's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-8. As for Diamond, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-4.

Everything went Diamond's way against Sarcoxie in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Diamond made off with a 7-0 win. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
