Southwest Prairie recap November 5, 2013

Oswego East scaled the state rankings by moving to 75 from 127 this week, the biggest jump in Southwest Prairie. The Wolves were able to move up by defeating Belleville West 21-14.

Plainfield South lost to Marist 64-28 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Steven Frank threw for 60 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Gill Whitaker provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Romeoville fell to Rich Central. Whitaker's favorite target this week was Manuel Nartey, who caught 2 passes for 49 yards.

Whitaker was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 174 yards on 24 carries as the Spartans bested Hinsdale Central. Teammate Miguel Ford added to the ground attack by rushing for 36 yards.

On the heels of Frank and Tyler Walsh, the Panthers have had great success on offense. Frank leads the league in passing with 1,743 yards, while Walsh has rushed for 1,183 yards this season. Romeoville's Charles Hunter leads the league in receiving yards with 923 on 45 catches.

He has recorded 45 catches for 923 yards this year.

Oswego led the league in scoring this week by notching 42 points on the Red Devils. Frank in the win.
