Basketball Game Preview: Greely Rangers vs. Messalonskee Eagles

The Greely Rangers are taking a road trip to take on the Messalonskee Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Last Tuesday, Greely was able to grind out a solid victory over Gray-New Gloucester, taking the game 50-37. That's two games straight that the Rangers have won by exactly 13 points.

Meanwhile, Messalonskee hadn't done well against Hampden recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Messalonskee walked away with a 45-36 win over Hampden. The 45-point effort marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Messalonskee is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Greely, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Greely strolled past Messalonskee when the teams last played back in March of 2017 by a score of 59-43. Will Greely repeat their success, or does Messalonskee have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
