Recap: Pueblo West Cyclones vs. Pueblo Central Wildcats

It was a good run, but the Pueblo West Cyclones unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 60-49 to Pueblo Central. Pueblo West has struggled against Pueblo Central recently, as their game on Wednesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Pueblo West lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Logan Montgomery, who scored 13 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Trujillo, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds.

Pueblo Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Xavier Davis out in front who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Davis has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Ladamien Davis was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.

Pueblo West's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Pueblo Central, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pueblo West will square off against Pueblo East at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pueblo East is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Pueblo Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Pueblo County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Pueblo County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday.
