Volleyball Recap: Parkway West Beats Oakville for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Parkway West came tearing into Wednesday's match with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Oakville Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Longhorns have posted since October 2, 2024.

Parkway West had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 19-25, 25-23, 26-24, 15-11.

Katie Byergo paced Parkway West's offense, picking up 13 kills. Byergo got some help from Elle Lanfersieck and her 35 assists. Finally, Hannah Jennings and Sophie Gansen kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked three attacks.

Parkway West's victory bumped their record up to 11-2-1. As for Oakville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Parkway West beat the Tigers by a score of 2-0 on Thursday.
