Volleyball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

Central was the 3-0 winner over Montgomery when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans fell just short of the Aztecs by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brianna Aguiar paced Central's offense, picking up eight kills. Aguiar got some help from Maryanne Barrett and her ten assists. Kim Landeros controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Montgomery, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-7.

Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Sweetwater on the 10th. As for Montgomery, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Imperial on the 10th.
