Baseball Game Preview: Terra Nova Tigers vs. Lowell Cardinals

Terra Nova has won three straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Lowell has won three straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Terra Nova Tigers duke it out with Lowell Cardinals at 11:00 a.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Terra Nova is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with an 8-4 win over San Lorenzo Valley on Friday.

Jesse Martinez made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Wesley McDougal and Luke Ornelas did most of the damage at the plate: McDougal scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4, while Ornelas scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Ornelas a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Brody Finale, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Lowell played against The Academy - San Francisco on Thursday and won via forfeit.

Terra Nova's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2-1. As for Lowell, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Terra Nova took their victory against Lowell when the teams last played back in March of 2018 by a conclusive 13-5. Will Terra Nova repeat their success, or does Lowell have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
