Basketball Game Preview: Green Canyon Wolves vs. Corner Canyon Chargers

Green Canyon is 0-4 against Corner Canyon since December of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Wolves will head out to challenge the Chargers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Green Canyon escaped with a win against Farmington by the margin of a single free throw, 41-40. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

Green Canyon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kloey Tensmeyer led the charge by putting up nine points and five steals. Tensmeyer has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Talyssa Nelson, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, Corner Canyon had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They secured a 59-54 W over Brighton on Tuesday.

Corner Canyon found their leader in freshman Aurayliah Tapusoa, who shot 43% from the field en route to 25 points and five boards. Keala Lund was another key player, going 6-for-12 on her way to 12 points and six rebounds.

Green Canyon couldn't quite get it done against Corner Canyon in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 as they fell 54-44. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
