Basketball Recap: Lincoln Golden Bears vs. Glencoe Yellowjackets
Lincoln lost against Glencoe back in November and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lincoln Golden Bears received a blow as they fell 62-43 to the Glencoe Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, the Golden Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 108th).
Glencoe found their leader in sophomore Kinlee Montgomery, who went 11 of 19 en route to 33 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Montgomery has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alli Jo Amos, who posted eight points and three steals.
Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Glencoe, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sylacauga at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Glencoe, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against White Plains at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
