James F. Byrnes put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Greer Yellow Jackets by a score of 71-59. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 49th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead James F. Byrnes to victory, but perhaps none more so than Evan Enos, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Colt Fowler, who posted 15 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Greer lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being AmAre Anderson, who put up 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Those five assists gave Anderson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mylan Hames, who had 15 points and five boards.

James F. Byrnes' win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Greer, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

James F. Byrnes didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 89-60 victory against Hueytown on the 14th. As for Greer, they will host Gaffney at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greer is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.2 points per game this season.
