It was a proper cat-fight when Harlingen took on Weslaco on Saturday. The Cardinals put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 3-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Panthers back in August, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

While Harlingen might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Weslaco scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 26-24, 25-22.

Madison Martinez and Desiree Gonzalez certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Martinez had 16 assists and three digs, while Gonzalez had eight digs and two assists. Martinez has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more assists the last four times she's played.

Harlingen now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Weslaco, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 16-14.

Looking ahead, Harlingen will head out to square off against Edinburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Weslaco, they will be playing in front of their home fans against La Feria at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
