Baseball Recap: Annapolis Comes Up Short

Annapolis lost against Inter-City Baptist on May 2nd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Annapolis saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Harris, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. The Cougars are 5-1 when Harris posts two or more runs, but 6-9 otherwise. Jorge Nieto also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Annapolis' defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Inter-City Baptist, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6.

Looking ahead, Annapolis will head out to challenge Garden City at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Garden City's pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so Annapolis' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Inter-City Baptist does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
