Volleyball Recap: Palisade's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

It was a good run, but Palisade unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Battle Mountain Huskies. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Darcy Imer paced Palisade's offense, picking up ten kills. Imer got some help from Lauren McClary and her nine assists. Isabella Fenske and Elizabeth Snover kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Leading Battle Mountain to victory were Sky Gwin and Evie Steinberg. Gwin had 12 digs and two aces, while Steinberg had nine digs and two aces. Gwin is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season.

Palisade now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Battle Mountain, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-3.

Palisade didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Pueblo County on the 8th. As for Battle Mountain, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Skyview on the 8th.
