Baseball Recap: Chesterton Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Chesterton extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 14-10 in the process. They had just enough and edged out Highland 5-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Chesterton also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Chesterton got a great performance from Kaden Hawksworth as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, Hawksworth posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nate Redman, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Glassman, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

As for Highland, they now have a losing record of 11-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since May 6, 2024.

On Highland's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kirk Dapshis, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Coincidentally, Chesterton and Highland will both be playing Valparaiso the next time they take the field. Highland will host Valparaiso at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, while Chesterton will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
