Greenfield/Northwestern posted their closest win since April 23, 2024 on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the North Greene Spartans 5-3. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Evie White spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jillian McAdams, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Lainey Frank was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Greenfield/Northwestern's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-8. As for North Greene, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenfield/Northwestern will challenge Routt Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rockets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.5 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for North Greene, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Father McGivney Catholic at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday.
