Baseball Recap: American Leadership Academy Comes Up Short

American Leadership Academy was the 5-3 winner over Summit Academy when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell 6-2 to the Bears on Friday. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

American Leadership Academy saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justus Brost, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Memphis Butler also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

American Leadership Academy's record now sits at 5-9. As for Summit Academy, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. American Leadership Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Morgan at 3:30 p.m. on the 7th. As for Summit Academy, they and Logan will meet on Thursday for a tough Bear Battle. The Grizzlies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of.
