Volleyball Recap: Oakwood Takes a Loss

Oakwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westville Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 last Thursday.

Caydence Vermillion paced Oakwood's offense, picking up two kills. Vermillion were helped by Sidney Dunavan and Ashtyn Dailey, who contributed two assists each. Dailey was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Oakwood's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Westville, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 24-6.

Oakwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Salt Fork on the 20th. As for Westville, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Georgetown-Ridge Farm on the 18th.
