Basketball Recap: South Webster Comes Up Short on the Road Against Chesapeake

South Webster had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 48-37 to the Chesapeake Panthers. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 18 in a row.

When it comes to explaining why South Webster lost, don't look at Addi Claxon. Despite the final result, she shot 5-for-7 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. Claxon has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last three times she's played.

Coming up, South Webster will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against South Gallia at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Chesapeake, they will head out to square off against Portsmouth at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Panthers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
