Basketball Recap: Nitro Drops Season-High Score on Lincoln County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nitro). They breezed by the Lincoln County Panthers to the tune of 84-39 on Saturday. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 28 points or more this season.

Ashton Crouch was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. What's more, he also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Ty Stephens 6'1 165Lbs, who went 5 for 10 to rack up 14 points.

Nitro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Nitro's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Lincoln County, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Nitro will face off against Charleston Catholic at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Nitro is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.9 points per game this season. As for Lincoln County, they will welcome Tolsia at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tolsia also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 53.7 points per game.
