Basketball Recap: Harrison Takes a Loss

Harrison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost to the Widefield Gladiators on the road by a 54-39 margin. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gladiators apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Harrison still got an impressive performance from Dylan Arocho, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Those 20 points gave Arocho a new career-high. Jason Love was another key player, putting up seven points.

Widefield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trevin Stemler led the charge by going 7 of 14 to rack up 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Taylor, who posted 11 points.

Harrison's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Widefield, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.

Harrison didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-43 loss against Pueblo Central on the 8th. As for Widefield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-53 win against Sierra on the 8th.
