Baseball Game Preview: Robbinsdale Cooper Hawks vs. Fridley Tigers

Robbinsdale Cooper hasn't had much luck against Fridley recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Hawks will venture away from home to face off against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Robbinsdale Cooper has given up an average of 7.8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Robbinsdale Cooper is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Monday. They lost 13-3 to Park Center/Columbia Heights/Maranatha.

Robbinsdale Cooper saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Dean, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Davian Dotray also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Fridley is still winless after their match against Richfield on Monday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Spartans. On the bright side, the seven- run performance marked the Tigers' highest-scoring game to date.

Robbinsdale Cooper's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Fridley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Robbinsdale Cooper was able to grind out a solid win over Fridley in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 8-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
