After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Center Hill, Independence was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They never let the Holly Springs Hawks get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by 13 runs or more this season.

Independence has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Holly Springs fell to 3-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Independence beat the Hawks by a score of 16-0 later that day.
